## Program and Process

We will talk a lot about the running "**process**", so it's useful to have clarity about what it means, and what's the difference with the word "**program**".

If you try interacting with any of the two user interfaces, they will work correctly, because the browser will be able to talk to each specific app or sub-app.

### Technical Details: `root_path`

The build session state also includes "cross session" state that is shared with any "nested" sessions that need to be created.

## ORMs

**FastAPI** works with any database and any style of library to talk to the database.

A common pattern is to use an "ORM": an "object-relational mapping" library.
