TensorFlow kernels and TensorFlow's dependencies are still not built with
debugging information with `--config=dbg`, as issues occur on Linux if
there is too much debug info (see [this GitHub
issue](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/issues/48919) for context). If
you want to debug a kernel, you can compile specific files with `-g` using the

h3. Plugins need a specific metadata model

Each application will have its own model for plugins. Much of this model will be common across applications but there will always be issues specific to a particular applications’s plugins. Some of the issues that need to be taken into consideration:

* Plugin dependencies

   * equivalent (except in the case of overflow) to the call {@code
   * addAll(Collections.nCopies(element, occurrences))}, which would presumably perform much more
   * poorly.

a full C parser and type checker that was also aware of any extensions
known to the system compiler (for example, all the GNU C extensions) as
well as the system-specific header locations and system-specific
pre-#defined macros. This is certainly possible to do, but it is an
enormous amount of work.

Cgo takes a different approach. It determines the meaning of C
identifiers not by parsing C code but by feeding carefully constructed

   * equivalent (except in the case of overflow) to the call {@code
   * addAll(Collections.nCopies(element, occurrences))}, which would presumably perform much more
   * poorly.
