## Language Detection and Selection

### User Interface Language

Fess determines the UI language in this order:

1. **Query parameter**: `?browser_lang=[locale]` (highest priority)
2. **Browser header**: `Accept-Language` header
3. **Fallback**: English (from `fess_label.properties` and `fess_message.properties`)

### Document Language Detection

During crawling and indexing, Fess:

* `write(daten)`: Schreibt `daten` (`str` oder `bytes`) in die Datei.
* `read(anzahl)`: Liest `anzahl` (`int`) bytes/Zeichen aus der Datei.
* `seek(versatz)`: Geht zur Position `versatz` (`int`) in der Datei.
    * z. B. würde `await myfile.seek(0)` zum Anfang der Datei gehen.
