### Create an `Enum` class { #create-an-enum-class }

Import `Enum` and create a sub-class that inherits from `str` and from `Enum`.

By inheriting from `str` the API docs will be able to know that the values must be of type `string` and will be able to render correctly.

are flags that allow build engineers to opt into and out of features of Gradle Runtime or Core Plugins.
Practically every Gradle feature is behind a flag, and additional sub-flags or options provide further control.

The number of existing Gradle properties is already in the double digits. More properties will be added in the future.

## Starlette features { #starlette-features }

**FastAPI** is fully compatible with (and based on) [**Starlette**](https://www.starlette.dev/). So, any additional Starlette code you have, will also work.

`FastAPI` is actually a sub-class of `Starlette`. So, if you already know or use Starlette, most of the functionality will work the same way.

With **FastAPI** you get all of **Starlette**'s features (as FastAPI is just Starlette on steroids):
