Floating-point operations within a single expression are evaluated according to
the associativity of the operators.  Explicit parentheses affect the evaluation
by overriding the default associativity.
In the expression <code>x + (y + z)</code> the addition <code>y + z</code>
is performed before adding <code>x</code>.
