## Introduction

To integrate with custom authentication methods using the [Identity Management Plugin](../iam/identity-management-plugin.md)), MinIO provides an STS API extension called `AssumeRoleWithCustomToken`.

After configuring the plugin, use the generated Role ARN with `AssumeRoleWithCustomToken` to get temporary credentials to access object storage.

## API Request

    OkHttp 2.3 our web socket client has matured. Connect to a server's web socket with
    `OkHttpClient.newWebSocket()`, send messages with `send()`, and receive messages with the
    `WebSocketListener`.

    The `okhttp-ws` submodule is no longer available and `okhttp-ws` artifacts from previous
    releases of OkHttp are not compatible with OkHttp 3.5. When upgrading to the new package

         * We'd like to simply create our own TypeVariable with the newly resolved bounds. There's
         * just one problem: Starting with JDK 7u51, the JDK TypeVariable's equals() method doesn't
         * recognize instances of our TypeVariable implementation. This is a problem because users
         * compare TypeVariables from the JDK against TypeVariables returned by TypeResolver. To

     *       thread cleared it, we still know that it's not associated with our thread
     *   <li>If this field's value == null because it was associated with our thread and was
     *       cleared, we know that we're not executing inline any more
