Whenever you pass exactly the same content (exactly the same password) you get exactly the same gibberish.

But you cannot convert from the gibberish back to the password.

##### Why use password hashing { #why-use-password-hashing }

If your database is stolen, the thief won't have your users' plaintext passwords, only the hashes.

   * nullness analysis might not understand that the field has been populated. To avoid that problem
   * without having to add {@code @SuppressWarnings}, the code can call this method.
   *
   * <p>Why <i>not</i> just add {@code SuppressWarnings}? The problem is that this method is

New features are added frequently, bugs are fixed regularly, and the code is still continuously improving.

That's why the current versions are still `0.x.x`, this reflects that each version could potentially have breaking changes. This follows the [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/) conventions.

We found the following APIs to be redundant or less useful outside of AWS S3. If you have a different view on any of the APIs we missed, please consider opening a [GitHub issue](https://github.com/minio/minio/issues) with relevant details on why MinIO must implement them.
