# Apache Lucene and Solr have separate repositories now!

Solr has become a top-level Apache project and main line 
development for Lucene and Solr is happening in each 
project's git repository now:

repository-hdfs plugin.

#### `x-pack`
Commercially licensed code that integrates with the rest of Elasticsearch. The
`docs` subdirectory functions just like the top level `docs` subdirectory and
the `qa` subdirectory functions just like the top level `qa` subdirectory. The
`plugin` subdirectory contains the x-pack module which runs inside the
Elasticsearch process.

Another big feature required by APIs is <dfn title="reading and converting to Python data">parsing</dfn> data from incoming requests.

Webargs is a tool that was made to provide that on top of several frameworks, including Flask.

It uses Marshmallow underneath to do the data validation. And it was created by the same developers.

It's a great tool and I have used it a lot too, before having **FastAPI**.

- Favour a working external library if appropriate.  There are many examples of OkHttp libraries that can sit on top or hook in via existing APIs.
- Get working code on a personal branch with tests before you submit a PR.
- OkHttp is a small and light dependency.  Don't introduce new dependencies or major new functionality.
