OkHttp IDNA Mapping Table
=========================

This module contains supporting tools for building the IDNA mapping table.

While a lot of Gradle source code runs only in the Gradle daemon, not all of it does and so, when working on some source code it is important to be aware of the runtimes in which it will run.

## Build state model

As Gradle executes, it acts on various pieces of the build definition, such as each project in the build.

(RFC 3454). Fragments of this RFC are dumped into the files in this directory and parsed by
`StringprepTablesReader` into a model that can be used at runtime.

This format is chosen to make it easy to validate that these tables are consistent with the RFC.

current build. It utilizes the `_api/v2/api_packages.txt` list of packages from
the local wheel file specified in the `requirements_lock_<python_version>.txt`.

Packages are imported one by one in alphabetical order during runtime.

The test doesn't identify package's order-dependent issues; for instance,
importing "tf.foo" followed by "tf.bar" won't reveal that "tf.bar" depends on
"tf.foo" being imported first.

- **Istiod** - The Istio control plane. It provides service discovery, configuration and certificate management. It consists of the following sub-components:

    - **Pilot** - Responsible for configuring the proxies at runtime.

    - **Citadel** - Responsible for certificate issuance and rotation.

    - **Galley** - Responsible for validating, ingesting, aggregating, transforming and distributing config within Istio.

### `image: auto` Information

The image used by the chart, `auto`, may be unintuitive.
This exists because the pod spec will be automatically populated at runtime, using the same mechanism as [Sidecar Injection](istio.io/latest/docs/setup/additional-setup/sidecar-injection).
This allows the same configurations and lifecycle to apply to gateways as sidecars.

- In sidecar mode, the CNI plugin can configure sidecar networking for pods when they are scheduled by the container runtime, using iptables. The CNI handling the netns setup replaces the current Istio approach using a `NET_ADMIN` privileged `initContainers` container, `istio-init`, injected in the pods along with `istio-proxy` sidecars. This removes the need for a privileged,...

    plans to start removing things again, but officially, we're leaving our
    options open in case of surprises (like, say, a serious security problem).

3.  Guava has one dependency that is needed for linkage at runtime:
    `com.google.guava:failureaccess:1.0.2`. It also has
    [some annotation-only dependencies][guava-deps], which we discuss in more
    detail at that link.
