## What is a Container Image { #what-is-a-container-image }

A **container** is run from a **container image**.

The important thing to remember is that **the first *type parameter*** you pass to `Annotated` is the **actual type**. The rest, is just metadata for other tools.

### Typed handlers

Typed handlers are handlers that have a specific type for the request and response payloads.
These must provide `msgp` serialization and deserialization.

In the examples we use a `MSS` type, which is a `map[string]string` that is `msgp` serializable.
