## Await for messages and send messages { #await-for-messages-and-send-messages }

In your WebSocket route you can `await` for messages and send messages.

You can receive and send binary, text, and JSON data.

If a client tries to send some **extra** data in the **query parameters**, they will receive an **error** response.

For example, if the client tries to send a `tool` query parameter with a value of `plumbus`, like:

If a client tries to send some **extra cookies**, they will receive an **error** response.

Poor cookie banners with all their effort to get your consent for the <abbr title="This is another joke. Don't pay attention to me. Have some coffee for your cookie. ☕">API to reject it</abbr>. 🍪

* `read(size)`: Reads `size` (`int`) bytes/characters of the file.
* `seek(offset)`: Goes to the byte position `offset` (`int`) in the file.
    * E.g., `await myfile.seek(0)` would go to the start of the file.
    * This is especially useful if you run `await myfile.read()` once and then need to read the contents again.
* `close()`: Closes the file.

As all these methods are `async` methods, you need to "await" them.

But still, it is very powerful, and allows you to declare arbitrarily deeply nested dependency "graphs" (trees).
