docs/en/docs/advanced/custom-response.md
Let's say you want it to return indented and formatted JSON, so you want to use the orjson option `orjson.OPT_INDENT_2`. You could create a `CustomORJSONResponse`. The main thing you have to do is create a `Response.render(content)` method that returns the content as `bytes`: {* ../../docs_src/custom_response/tutorial009c.py hl[9:14,17] *} Now instead of returning: ```json {"message": "Hello World"} ```

And in those cases, we can use classes and inheritance to take advantage of function **type annotations** to get better support in the editor and tools, and still get the FastAPI **data filtering**. {* ../../docs_src/response_model/tutorial003_01_py310.py hl[7:10,13:14,18] *}

like to get an error. Currently we do, but if we add the extra <inherits> lines, we won't. I have one idea for a better approach, but it's painful, and I haven't tested it: We could postprocess Collect.gwt.xml to add <skip> lines for all the files that should be covered by testModule.gwt.xml. Maybe I'll try it someday.
