## What is a Container { #what-is-a-container }

Containers (mainly Linux containers) are a very **lightweight** way to package applications including all their dependencies and necessary files while keeping them isolated from other containers (other applications or components) in the same system.

   * - System.nanoTime() is expensive enough that we want to call it the minimum required number of
   *   times, typically once before invoking a blocking method. This often requires keeping track of
   *   the first time in a method that nanoTime() has been invoked, for which the special value 0L
   *   is reserved to mean "uninitialized". If timeout is non-positive, then nanoTime need never be
   *   called.

A future version of Go may change the defaults to
`tarinsecurepath=0` and `zipinsecurepath=0`.

Go 1.20 introduced automatic seeding of the
[`math/rand`](/pkg/math/rand) global random number generator,
controlled by the [`randautoseed` setting](/pkg/math/rand/#Seed).

Go 1.20 introduced the concept of fallback roots for use during certificate verification,

 * {@link #values} views is the same as insertion order. Any removal invalidates any ordering
 * guarantees.

 * <p>This class should not be assumed to be universally superior to {@code java.util.HashMap}.
 * Generally speaking, this class reduces object allocation and memory consumption at the price of
 * moderately increased constant factors of CPU. Only use this class when there is a specific reason
 * to prioritize memory over CPU.

A security issue was discovered in kube-apiserver that could allow an attacker controlled aggregated API server to redirect client traffic to any URL.  This could lead to the client performing unexpected actions as well as leaking the client's credentials to third parties. 

There is no mitigation from this issue.  Cluster admins should take care to secure aggregated API servers and should not grant access to mutate `APIService`s to untrusted parties.
