5. **Open** a Pull Request

## Investigation { #investigation }

By using all the previous alternatives I had the chance to learn from all of them, take ideas, and combine them in the best way I could find for myself and the teams of developers I have worked with.

For example, it was clear that ideally it should be based on standard Python type hints.

### `startup` and `shutdown` together { #startup-and-shutdown-together }

There's a high chance that the logic for your *startup* and *shutdown* is connected, you might want to start something and then finish it, acquire a resource and then release it, etc.

   - Rebase to tidy commits before submitting (e.g., `git rebase -i main` to squash typos or reword messages), unless multiple contributors worked on the branch.
   - Keep PRs focused—one feature or fix. Split large changes into multiple PRs.

3. **Testing**:
   - Include unit tests for new functionality or bug fixes.
   - Ensure existing tests pass (`make test`).
