* * <p>The extra bookkeeping done by cycle detecting locks comes at some cost to performance. * Benchmarks (as of December 2011) show that: * * <ul> * <li>for an unnested {@code lock()} and {@code unlock()}, a cycle detecting lock takes 38ns as * opposed to the 24ns taken by a plain lock. * <li>for nested locking, the cost increases with the depth of the nesting: * <ul>

// FIXME: network calls made in this manner such as one goroutine per node, // can easily eat into the internode bandwidth. This function would be mostly // TX saturating, however there are situations where a RX might also saturate. // To avoid these problems we must split the work at scale. With 1000 node

access to components that are hard to instantiate like `IndicesService`. Whenever practical, you should prefer unit tests. Many tests extend `ESIntegTestCase`, mostly because this is how most tests used to work in the early days of Elasticsearch. However the complexity of these tests tends to make them hard to debug. Whenever the functionality that is

Using `panicnil=1` restores the behavior of Go 1.20 and earlier. When compiling a work module or workspace that declares an older Go version, the Go toolchain amends its defaults to match that older Go version as closely as possible. For example, when a Go 1.21 toolchain compiles a program, if the work module's `go.mod` or the workspace's `go.work` says `go` `1.20`, then the program defaults to `panicnil=1`, matching Go 1.20 instead of Go 1.21.
