## Architecture Standards

**Experimental!**

We'd like to capture our architectural decisions about the build tool as [Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)](https://adr.github.io/).
For now we just have this global repository of ADRs.
If we see fit, we can break these out to per-platform ones, or keep a hybrid approach to having global and platform-specific ADSs.

Our aim is to keep the process lightweight and approachable.

from Go 1.9 and earlier, use the cftype or jni rewrites in the Go fix tool:

It will replace nil with 0 in the appropriate places.

The EGLDisplay case was introduced in Go 1.12. Use the egl rewrite
to auto-update code from Go 1.11 and earlier:

Given a trace file produced by 'go test':

Open a web browser displaying trace:
	go tool trace [flags] [pkg.test] trace.out

Generate a pprof-like profile from the trace:

[pkg.test] argument is required for traces produced by Go 1.6 and below.

By default, Gradle prefers installed JDKs over JREs if they can satisfy the requirements.

Toolchains tool providers can be obtained from the link:{javadocPath}/org/gradle/jvm/toolchain/JavaToolchainService.html[`javaToolchains`] extension.
