# Each automation has an `if` key that defines conditions to run the automation, # as well as a `run` key with the actions to do. All the conditions need to be true # for the actions to run (there is an implicit AND relation between # the conditions on each line). Each condition is specified as a Jinja expression. You # can also use the constant `true` if you want to always run the actions.

### Fixing sanity check failures after public API changes If your PR includes any changes to the Gradle Public API, it will cause the binary compatibility check to fail. The binary compatibility check runs as a part of the broader sanity check. The latter runs on every PR and is a prerequisite for merging.

architecture/standards/0003-avoid-introducing-Groovy-types-to-public-api.md
## Decision We do not introduce new public API methods that include Groovy types in their signatures. Existing Groovy methods will not be removed immediately. ## Status ACCEPTED ## Consequences * If we would have used `Closure`, we must instead use `Action<T>`, `Spec<T>`, `Callable<T>`, or `Transformer<OUT, IN>`. * We need to ensure all APIs that are exposed in the Groovy DSL go through runtime decoration.
