platforms/documentation/docs/src/docs/userguide/troubleshooting/validation_problems.adoc
``` However, mutable types like `Property` are designed to track dependencies and origin of values they are supplied with. As a consequence, it is an error to make them overwritable, because Gradle will then be unable to tell where a property value comes from. To fix this problem, you should either make your property final and remove the setter: ```groovy class MyTask extends DefaultTask { @Input final Property<Integer> getX() = ...
platforms/documentation/docs/src/docs/userguide/optimizing-performance/build-cache/common_caching_problems.adoc
If you use a volatile input like a timestamp as an input property for a task, then there is nothing Gradle can do to make the task cacheable. You should really think hard if the volatile data is really essential to the output or if it is only there for e.g. auditing purposes. If the volatile input is essential to the output then you can try to make the task using the volatile input cheaper to execute.
platforms/documentation/docs/src/docs/userguide/authoring-builds/best-practices/organizing_gradle_projects.adoc
Gradle recommends that you place sources in directories according to their language, because builds are more performant and both the user and build can make stronger assumptions. The following source tree contains Java and Kotlin source files. Java source files live in `src/main/java`, whereas Kotlin source files live in `src/main/kotlin`. ==== [.multi-language-sample] =====
