The hierarchy is like:

* **Uvicorn**: an ASGI server
    * **Starlette**: (uses Uvicorn) a web microframework
        * **FastAPI**: (uses Starlette) an API microframework with several additional features for building APIs, with data validation, etc.

* **Uvicorn**:
    * Will have the best performance, as it doesn't have much extra code apart from the server itself.

Starlette is a lightweight <abbr title="The new standard for building asynchronous Python web applications">ASGI</abbr> framework/toolkit, which is ideal for building high-performance asyncio services.

It is very simple and intuitive. It's designed to be easily extensible, and have modular components.

It has:

While building an API, the "path" is the main way to separate "concerns" and "resources".

#### Operation

"Operation" here refers to one of the HTTP "methods".

One of:

* `POST`
* `GET`
* `PUT`

    * **Vuetify** pour de magnifiques composants *material design*.
    * **TypeScript**.
    * Serveur Docker basé sur **Nginx** (configuré pour être facilement manipulé avec Vue-router).

To do that, first build all the docs:

This builds all those independent MkDocs sites for each language, combines them, and generates the final output at `./site/`.

You could use that command for example to start your **FastAPI** app in a container, in a server, etc.

## ASGI Servers

Let's go a little deeper into the details.

FastAPI uses a standard for building Python web frameworks and servers called <abbr title="Asynchronous Server Gateway Interface">ASGI</abbr>. FastAPI is an ASGI web framework.

## OpenAPI Client Generators

There are many tools to generate clients from **OpenAPI**.

A common tool is <a href="https://openapi-generator.tech/" class="external-link" target="_blank">OpenAPI Generator</a>.

If you are building a **frontend**, a very interesting alternative is <a href="https://github.com/hey-api/openapi-ts" class="external-link" target="_blank">openapi-ts</a>.
