Each left-hand side operand must be <a href="#Address_operators">addressable</a>,
a map index expression, or (for <code>=</code> assignments only) the

# Passing pointers

Go is a garbage collected language, and the garbage collector needs to
know the location of every pointer to Go memory. Because of this,
there are restrictions on passing pointers between Go and C.

In this section the term Go pointer means a pointer to memory

with a new value specified by an <a href="#Expressions">expression</a>.
An assignment statement may assign a single value to a single variable, or multiple values to a
matching number of variables.
