                   builds with JDK8 began failing animal-sniffer with the error:

                   Failed to check signatures: Bad class file .../CollectionFuture$ListFuture.class

                   One way of dealing with that would be to disable
                   animal-sniffer. And that would be fine for our -jre builds:
