Comments serve as program documentation. There are two forms:

<i>Line comments</i> start with the character sequence <code>//</code>
and stop at the end of the line.

<i>General comments</i> start with the character sequence <code>/*</code>
and stop with the first subsequent character sequence <code>*/</code>.
