## Program and Process

We will talk a lot about the running "**process**", so it's useful to have clarity about what it means, and what's the difference with the word "**program**".

### What is a Program

The word **program** is commonly used to describe many things:

* The **code** that you write, the **Python files**.

## Server Machine and Server Program

There's a small detail about names to keep in mind. 💡

The word "**server**" is commonly used to refer to both the remote/cloud computer (the physical or virtual machine) and also the program that is running on that machine (e.g. Uvicorn).

### Preprocess the OpenAPI Specification for the Client Generator

The generated code still has some **duplicated information**.

We already know that this method is related to the **items** because that word is in the `ItemsService` (taken from the tag), but we still have the tag name prefixed in the method name too. 😕

We will probably still want to keep it for OpenAPI in general, as that will ensure that the operation IDs are **unique**.

* In lines starting with `===` or `!!!`, translate only the ` "... Text ..."` part. Leave the rest unchanged.

* You can translate info boxes like `!!! warning` with for example `!!! warning "Achtung"`. But do not change the word immediately after the `!!!`, it determines the color of the info box.

* Do not change the paths in links to images, code files, Markdown documents.

I think `Union[SomeType, None]` is more explicit about what it means.

It's just about the words and names. But those words can affect how you and your teammates think about the code.

Up to here, everything would work as normally.

But then, when you open the integrated docs UI (the frontend), it would expect to get the OpenAPI schema at `/openapi.json`, instead of `/api/v1/openapi.json`.

### Interaktive API-Dokumentation

Eine „Middleware“ ist eine Funktion, die mit jedem **Request** arbeitet, bevor er von einer bestimmten *Pfadoperation* verarbeitet wird. Und auch mit jeder **Response**, bevor sie zurückgegeben wird.

* Sie nimmt jeden **Request** entgegen, der an Ihre Anwendung gesendet wird.
* Sie kann dann etwas mit diesem **Request** tun oder beliebigen Code ausführen.

* **Starlette**:
    * Wird nach Uvicorn die nächstbeste Performanz erbringen. Tatsächlich nutzt Starlette intern Uvicorn. Daher kann es wahrscheinlich nur „langsamer“ als Uvicorn sein, weil mehr Code ausgeführt wird.
    * Aber es bietet Ihnen die Tools zum Erstellen einfacher Webanwendungen, mit Routing basierend auf Pfaden, usw.
