Matisse ein sehr umfangreiches Werk von Pablo Picasso. Nicht nur gemessen an der 
Vielzahl seiner Frauenporträts erscheint die Beschäftigung mit der Rolle der Frau in 
seinem Werk und Leben wichtig.  
Am Beispiel von Dora Maar, eine seiner langjährigen Lebensabschnittsgefährtinnen, 
von der auch die Sammlung Berggruen zahlreiche Porträts hier ausstellt, wird es
