Istio has a variety of [controllers](https://kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/architecture/controller/), which basically watch some inputs and do something.
This can be reading from Kubernetes and writing other objects back, writing to proxies over XDS, etc.

Unfortunately, writing controllers is very error prone, even for seemingly simple cases.
To work around this, Istio has a variety of abstractions meant to make writing controllers easier.

## Clients

 * connection the client has many options:
 *
 *  * **HTTP proxy:** a proxy server may be explicitly configured for the client. Otherwise, the
 *    [proxy selector][java.net.ProxySelector] is used. It may return multiple proxies to attempt.
 *  * **IP address:** whether connecting directly to an origin server or a proxy, opening a socket
 *    requires an IP address. The DNS server may return multiple IP addresses to attempt.

Following is a sample directory structure for MinIO server with TLS certificates.

You can provide a custom certs directory using `--certs-dir` command line option.

#### Credentials

On MinIO admin credentials or root credentials are only allowed to be changed using ENVs namely `MINIO_ROOT_USER` and `MINIO_ROOT_PASSWORD`.

The response answers the request with a code (like 200 for success or 404 for not found), headers, and its own optional body.

## Rewriting Requests

When you provide OkHttp with an HTTP request, you’re describing the request at a high-level: _“fetch me this URL with these headers.”_ For correctness and efficiency, OkHttp rewrites your request before transmitting it.
