# SMB3 Advanced Features Implementation Plan

## Overview
This document outlines the implementation plan for advanced SMB3 features that are currently not implemented in JCIFS. These features are essential for enterprise-grade SMB3 support, providing enhanced performance, reliability, and scalability.

## Overview

**Fess Crawler** is a powerful, flexible Java-based web crawling framework designed for enterprise-scale content extraction and processing. Built with a modular architecture, it supports multiple protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, File System, FTP, SMB, Cloud Storage) and provides extensive content extraction capabilities from various document formats.

## 1. Overview

Persistent handles (also known as durable handles) allow SMB3 connections to survive network disconnections, server reboots, and client reconnections. This feature is critical for enterprise reliability and seamless failover scenarios.
