The only difference is that **FastAPI**'s `HTTPException` accepts any JSON-able data for the `detail` field, while Starlette's `HTTPException` only accepts strings for it. So, you can keep raising **FastAPI**'s `HTTPException` as normally in your code. But when you register an exception handler, you should register it for Starlette's `HTTPException`.

## Self-hosting JavaScript and CSS for docs { #self-hosting-javascript-and-css-for-docs } Self-hosting the JavaScript and CSS could be useful if, for example, you need your app to keep working even while offline, without open Internet access, or in a local network. Here you'll see how to serve those files yourself, in the same FastAPI app, and configure the docs to use them.Created: Sun Dec 28 07:19:09 GMT 2025 - Last Modified: Wed Dec 17 20:41:43 GMT 2025 - 7.8K bytes - Click Count (0) -
