#### PushContext

`PushContext` is an immutable snapshot of the current state of the world. It is regenerated (usually partially) on each configuration push (more on this below). Due to being a snapshot, most lookups are lock-free.

A typical platform builds on other platforms in order to add more capabilities, for example, to add support for a particular language.

The platforms and their architecture modules are:

#### Core automation platform

* Be careful when using features introduced in Java 1.7 or later. Some parts of Gradle still need to run on Java 6.
* Normalize file paths in tests. The `org.gradle.util.internal.TextUtil` class has some useful functions for this purpose.
