# ADR-0001 - Use Architectural Decision Records

## Context

In a distributed team with many subteams, the best solution to communicate decisions is to use a format accessible by everyone in charge of development.

We use *Specification* and *Discovery* documents stored in Google Drive, but they present some downsides:

* Added DNS Reverse Record logic for service IPs ([#26226](https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/26226), [@ArtfulCoder](https://github.com/ArtfulCoder))

- Added `apiserver.latency.k8s.io/authentication` annotation to the audit log to record the
  time spent authenticating slow requests. Also added `apiserver.latency.k8s.io/authorization`
  annotation to record the time spent authorizing slow requests. ([#130571](https://github.com/kubernetes/kubernetes/pull/130571), [@hakuna-matatah](https://github.com/hakuna-matatah))

- In a scheduler with `Permit` plugins, when a Pod is rejected during `WaitOnPermit`, the scheduler records the plugin.

   * higher than performing just the operation without enforcing the capacity constraint.

   * This implementation uses a per-segment queue to record a memento of the additions, removals,
   * and accesses that were performed on the map. The queue is drained on writes and when it exceeds
