# ADR-0007 - Support running Gradle on multiple Java versions and do not embed a Java runtime in the Gradle distribution

## Context

### Embedding a Java runtime in the Gradle distribution

There have been discussions on embedding a Java runtime in the Gradle distribution.
This would allow users to run Gradle without having to install a Java runtime beforehand.

Go 1.25 added a new `embedfollowsymlinks` setting that controls whether the
Go command will follow symlinks to regular files embedding files.
The default value `embedfollowsymlinks=0` does not allow following

nsport now garbage collects TLS cache entries and client certificate rotation go routines when a transport is no longer used.  This functionality is enabled by default and can be controlled via the ClientsAllowTLSCacheGC feature gate.  Binaries embedding k8s.io/client-go, but not wiring the feature gates can disable it by setting the KUBE_FEATURE_ClientsAllowTLSCacheGC=false environment variable. ### Bug or Regression

- --feature-gate=InOrderInformers (default on), causes informers to process watch streams in order as opposed to grouping updates for the same item close together.  Binaries embedding client-go, but not wiring the featuregates can disable by setting the `KUBE_FEATURE_InOrderInformers=false`.
