## Decision

The Gradle project adopts **American English** as the standard language variant for all code, comments, documentation, user-facing messages, and written communication.

### Examples

Use American English spelling, for example:

* `color` (not `colour`)
* `initialize` (not `initialise`)
* `behavior` (not `behaviour`)
