### Create a Session Dependency { #create-a-session-dependency }

A **`Session`** is what stores the **objects in memory** and keeps track of any changes needed in the data, then it **uses the `engine`** to communicate with the database.

We will create a FastAPI **dependency** with `yield` that will provide a new `Session` for each request. This is what ensures that we use a single session per request. 🤓

We need this form so that the model builder can make the first pass at merging. Full merging cannot be done because we don't know what the version of the plugin is yet that the user has requested. For plugins in the default lifecycle they are typically defined in the plugin management section of the parent POM. When the merging is complete we are going to have something that looks like the following:

That's why the current versions are still `0.x.x`, this reflects that each version could potentially have breaking changes. This follows the [Semantic Versioning](https://semver.org/) conventions.

You can create production applications with **FastAPI** right now (and you have probably been doing it for some time), you just have to make sure that you use a version that works correctly with the rest of your code.

This way, you don't have to know beforehand what the valid field/attribute names are (as would be the case with Pydantic models).

This would be useful if you want to receive keys that you don't already know.
