### CORS preflight requests

These are any `OPTIONS` request with `Origin` and `Access-Control-Request-Method` headers.

In this case the middleware will intercept the incoming request and respond with appropriate CORS headers, and either a `200` or `400` response for informational purposes.

The description above details one way replication from source to target w.r.t incoming object uploads and metadata changes to source object version. If active-active replication is configured, any incoming uploads and metadata changes to versions created on the target, will sync back to the source and be marked as `REPLICA` on the source.
