This file provides guidance to Claude Code when working with this repository.

## Project Overview

Fess is an Enterprise Search Server built on OpenSearch. It's a Java-based web application that crawls and indexes documents from various sources and provides full-text search capabilities. Licensed under Apache License 2.0.

**Key Capabilities:**
- Full-text search with OpenSearch backend
- Web, file system, and data store crawling

- All versioned buckets maintain the same order for "versions" for each object after being decommissioned to the other pools.
- A pool interrupted during the decommission process, such as for a cluster restart, resumes from where it left off.
