### CSI Migration Beta

The Kubernetes in-tree storage plugin to Container Storage Interface (CSI) migration infrastructure is now beta in Kubernetes v1.17. CSI migration was introduced as alpha in Kubernetes v1.14.

JSON can only contain UTF-8 encoded strings, so it can't contain raw bytes.

Base64 can encode binary data in strings, but to do it, it needs to use more characters than the original binary data, so it would normally be less efficient than regular files.

The zoneinfo.zip archive contains time zone files compiled using
the code and data maintained as part of the IANA Time Zone Database.
The IANA asserts that the database is in the public domain.
