## Development Workflow

Start by forking the MinIO GitHub repository, make changes in a branch and then send a pull request. We encourage pull requests to discuss code changes. Here are the steps in details:

### Setup your MinIO GitHub Repository

If a client tries to send some **extra** data in the **query parameters**, they will receive an **error** response.

For example, if the client tries to send a `tool` query parameter with a value of `plumbus`, like:

If a client tries to send some **extra cookies**, they will receive an **error** response.

Poor cookie banners with all their effort to get your consent for the <dfn title="This is another joke. Don't pay attention to me. Have some coffee for your cookie. ☕">API to reject it</dfn>. 🍪

    The HTTP authorization header value is split by the first space.

    The first part is the `scheme`, the second part is the `credentials`.

    For example, in an HTTP Bearer token scheme, the client will send a header
    like:

    ```
    Authorization: Bearer deadbeef12346
    ```

    In this case:

    * `scheme` will have the value `"Bearer"`
    * `credentials` will have the value `"deadbeef12346"`

If your app needs to receive and send JSON data, but you need to include binary data in it, you can encode it as base64.

## Base64 vs Files { #base64-vs-files }

Consider first if you can use [Request Files](../tutorial/request-files.md) for uploading binary data and [Custom Response - FileResponse](./custom-response.md#fileresponse--fileresponse-) for sending binary data, instead of encoding it in JSON.
