All the same `parameters`, `responses`, `dependencies`, `tags`, etc. /// tip In this example, the variable is called `router`, but you can name it however you want. /// We are going to include this `APIRouter` in the main `FastAPI` app, but first, let's check the dependencies and another `APIRouter`. ## Dependencies { #dependencies }

And you don't need to declare anything else for that parameter, so you don't really need to use `Query`. But you still need to use `Path` for the `item_id` path parameter. And you don't want to use `Annotated` for some reason. Python will complain if you put a value with a "default" before a value that doesn't have a "default". But you can re-order them, and have the value without a default (the query parameter `q`) first.

{* ../../docs_src/python_types/tutorial001_py310.py hl[2] *} ### Edit it { #edit-it } It's a very simple program. But now imagine that you were writing it from scratch. At some point you would have started the definition of the function, you had the parameters ready... But then you have to call "that method that converts the first letter to upper case". Was it `upper`? Was it `uppercase`? `first_uppercase`? `capitalize`?Created: Sun Apr 05 07:19:11 GMT 2026 - Last Modified: Thu Mar 05 18:13:19 GMT 2026 - 11K bytes - Click Count (0) -

docs/en/docs/tutorial/query-params-str-validations.md
### Required, can be `None` { #required-can-be-none } You can declare that a parameter can accept `None`, but that it's still required. This would force clients to send a value, even if the value is `None`. To do that, you can declare that `None` is a valid type but simply do not declare a default value: {* ../../docs_src/query_params_str_validations/tutorial006c_an_py310.py hl[9] *}Created: Sun Apr 05 07:19:11 GMT 2026 - Last Modified: Thu Mar 05 18:13:19 GMT 2026 - 16.3K bytes - Click Count (0)
