# ADR-0002 - Avoid using Java serialization

## Status

## Context

In Gradle we often need to serialize in-memory objects for caching, or to transmit them across process barriers, etc.
Java serialization is one way to implement this, however, despite its simplicity of implementation, it has several drawbacks:

- **Performance:**
Java's built-in serialization mechanism is often slower compared to other serialization solutions.

code in context of the TensorFlow service, it is important to design isolation
mechanisms that prevent unwanted access to the data from other tenants.

Network isolation between different models is also important not only to prevent
unauthorized access to data or models, but also to prevent malicious users or
tenants sending graphs to execute under another tenant’s identity.
