By using a pre-made container image it's very easy to **combine** and use different tools. For example, to try out a new database. In most cases, you can use the **official images**, and just configure them with environment variables.

Fess is based on [OpenSearch](https://github.com/opensearch-project/OpenSearch), but knowledge/experience about OpenSearch is _not_ required. Fess provides an easy to use Administration GUI to configure the system via your browser.

# Testing { #testing }

Thanks to [Starlette](https://www.starlette.dev/testclient/), testing **FastAPI** applications is easy and enjoyable.

It is based on [HTTPX](https://www.python-httpx.org), which in turn is designed based on Requests, so it's very familiar and intuitive.

With it, you can use [pytest](https://docs.pytest.org/) directly with **FastAPI**.
