For example, you could decide to read and validate the request with your own code, without using the automatic features of FastAPI with Pydantic, but you could still want to define the request in the OpenAPI schema.

### Step 3. Update istioctl schema

Istioctl uses a [schema](../../operator/pkg/apis/values_types.proto) to validate the values. Any changes to
the schema must be added here, otherwise istioctl users will see errors.
Once the schema file is updated, run:
