### CVE-2024-9042: Command Injection affecting Windows nodes via nodes/*/logs/query API

A security vulnerability has been discovered in Kubernetes windows nodes
that could allow a user with the ability to query a node's '/logs' endpoint
to execute arbitrary commands on the host.

- CSI drivers can now opt in to receive service account tokens via the secrets field instead of volume context by setting `spec.serviceAccountTokenInSecrets: true` in the CSIDriver object. This prevents tokens from being exposed in logs and other outputs. The feature is gated by the `CSIServiceAccountTokenSecrets` feature gate (beta in `v1.35`).
