There are multiple tools that you can use to create those dependables, and they get integrated into OpenAPI so they are shown in the automatic docs UI, they can be used by automatically generated clients and SDKs, etc.

You can import them from `fastapi.security`:

## Dataclasses in `response_model`

You can also use `dataclasses` in the `response_model` parameter:

The dataclass will be automatically converted to a Pydantic dataclass.

This way, its schema will show up in the API docs user interface:

Then in tests annotated `@org.junit.jupiter.api.Test`, you may add a [MockWebServer] as a test
method parameter. It will be shut down automatically after the test runs.

If one or more drives are offline at the start of a PutObject or NewMultipartUpload operation the object will have additional data protection bits added automatically to provide additional safety for these objects.

# Return a Response Directly

When you create a **FastAPI** *path operation* you can normally return any data from it: a `dict`, a `list`, a Pydantic model, a database model, etc.

By default, **FastAPI** would automatically convert that return value to JSON using the `jsonable_encoder` explained in [JSON Compatible Encoder](../tutorial/encoder.md){.internal-link target=_blank}.

But if you return a `Response` directly (or any subclass, like `JSONResponse`), the data won't be automatically converted (even if you declare a `response_model`), and the documentation won't be automatically generated (for example, including the specific "media type", in the HTTP header `Content-Type` as part of the generated OpenAPI).
