There's an alternative way to define this logic to be executed during *startup* and during *shutdown*.

You can define event handlers (functions) that need to be executed before the application starts up, or when the application is shutting down.

These functions can be declared with `async def` or normal `def`.

For **TypeScript clients**, <a href="https://heyapi.dev/" class="external-link" target="_blank">Hey API</a> is a purpose-built solution, providing an optimized experience for the TypeScript ecosystem.

But you can configure the **application server** to trust the *forwarded* headers sent by the **proxy**. If you are using FastAPI CLI, you can use the *CLI Option* `--forwarded-allow-ips` to tell it from which IPs it should trust those *forwarded* headers.

* Many PRs don't have tests, you can **remind** them to add tests, or you can even **suggest** some tests yourself. That's one of the things that consume most time and you can help a lot with that.

## Update replacing with `PUT` { #update-replacing-with-put }

To update an item you can use the <a href="https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Methods/PUT" class="external-link" target="_blank">HTTP `PUT`</a> operation.

You can use the `jsonable_encoder` to convert the input data to data that can be stored as JSON (e.g. with a NoSQL database). For example, converting `datetime` to `str`.

You can configure the two documentation user interfaces included:

* **Swagger UI**: served at `/docs`.
    * You can set its URL with the parameter `docs_url`.
    * You can disable it by setting `docs_url=None`.
* **ReDoc**: served at `/redoc`.
    * You can set its URL with the parameter `redoc_url`.
    * You can disable it by setting `redoc_url=None`.

If you use any other tool to manage your installations, like `uv`, Poetry, Pipenv, or others, they all have a way that you can use to define specific versions for your packages.
