## Architecture Standards

**Experimental!**

We'd like to capture our architectural decisions about the build tool as [Architectural Decision Records (ADRs)](https://adr.github.io/).
For now we just have this global repository of ADRs.
If we see fit, we can break these out to per-platform ones, or keep a hybrid approach to having global and platform-specific ADSs.

Our aim is to keep the process lightweight and approachable.

`PUT` is used to receive data that should replace the existing data.

### Warning about replacing { #warning-about-replacing }

That means that if you want to update the item `bar` using `PUT` with a body containing:

# Test Client - `TestClient`

You can use the `TestClient` class to test FastAPI applications without creating an actual HTTP and socket connection, just communicating directly with the FastAPI code.

You can import it directly from `fastapi.testclient`:

By the last <a href="https://www.jetbrains.com/research/python-developers-survey-2018/#development-tools" class="external-link" target="_blank">Python Developer Survey</a>, that covers about 80% of the users.

It means that **FastAPI** was specifically tested with the editors used by 80% of the Python developers. And as most of the other editors tend to work similarly, all its benefits should work for virtually all editors.
