## What we expect from contributors

We support development in IntelliJ versions IntelliJ 2020.1 and
onwards and Eclipse 2020-3 and onwards.

[Docker](https://docs.docker.com/install/) is required for building some Elasticsearch artifacts and executing certain test suites. You can run Elasticsearch without building all the artifacts with:

    ./gradlew :run

That'll spend a while building Elasticsearch and then it'll start Elasticsearch,

> The Gradle Build Tool repository is massive, and it will take ages to build on
> a local machine without necessary parallelization and caching.
> The full test suites are executed on the CI instance for multiple configurations,
> and you can rely on it after doing initial sanity check and targeted local testing.

- [IV](#iv): is a randomly generated initialization vector. It is public and part of the object metadata.
- `context_values`: are values like the bucket and object name and other information which should be cryptographically bound to the KEK.

To summarize for any encrypted object there exists (at least) three different keys:

Templates, while typically come with a specific setup, are designed to be flexible and customizable. This allows you to modify and adapt them to your project's requirements, making them an excellent starting point. 🏁

You can use this template to get started, as it includes a lot of the initial set up, security, database and some API endpoints already done for you.
