Here you will see different recipes or "how to" guides for **several topics**.

Most of these ideas would be more or less **independent**, and in most cases you should only need to study them if they apply directly to **your project**.

If something seems interesting and useful to your project, go ahead and check it, but otherwise, you might probably just skip them.

## Details about the `Request` object { #details-about-the-request-object }

As **FastAPI** is actually **Starlette** underneath, with a layer of several tools on top, you can use Starlette's <a href="https://www.starlette.dev/requests/" class="external-link" target="_blank">`Request`</a> object directly when you need to.

If you want to secure your API, there are several better things you can do, for example:

* Make sure you have well defined Pydantic models for your request bodies and responses.
* Configure any required permissions and roles using dependencies.

Now, from a **developer's perspective**, here are several things to keep in mind while thinking about HTTPS:

* For HTTPS, **the server** needs to **have "certificates"** generated by a **third party**.

To try it out:

* Open the app with several browser tabs.
* Write messages from them.
* Then close one of the tabs.

That will raise the `WebSocketDisconnect` exception, and all the other clients will receive a message like:

When translating documentation into Portuguese, use neutral and widely understandable language. Although Portuguese originated in Portugal and has its largest number of speakers in Brazil, it is also an official language in several countries and regions, such as Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, and São Tomé and Príncipe. Avoid words or expressions that are specific to a single country or region.
