## Design { #design }

Then I spent some time designing the developer "API" I wanted to have as a user (as a developer using FastAPI).

I tested several ideas in the most popular Python editors: PyCharm, VS Code, Jedi based editors.

You can change/extend these stubs, and tests should not be breaking too much, since most tests
assert using expected values from the stubs. Normally, when you try to use data from the stubs that
have not been properly populated, you'll get a nullpointer in your test and you then have to
identify which stub creates that specific piece of data.

The most important stubs are:

ProjectDependencyGraphStub

You could load it at the top level of the module/file, but that would also mean that it would **load the model** even if you are just running a simple automated test, then that test would be **slow** because it would have to wait for the model to load before being able to run an independent part of the code.
