Taking data from:

* The path as parameters.
* Headers.
* Cookies.
* etc.

And by doing so, **FastAPI** is validating that data, converting it and generating documentation for your API automatically.

But there are situations where you might need to access the `Request` object directly.

## Details about the `Request` object

GET requests by specifying a version ID as shown below, you can retrieve the specific object version `fae684da`.

**`kube.Client`** is a fairly light wrapper around Kubernetes clients, but offers quite a few benefits.
Istio consumes _many_ different types of clients (at the time of writing, 7), as well as informers for each of these.
Additionally, we often need to convert to various different client forms for different libraries we integrate with.

If you just don't know, use normal `def`.

**Note**: You can mix `def` and `async def` in your *path operation functions* as much as you need and define each one using the best option for you. FastAPI will do the right thing with them.

Anyway, in any of the cases above, FastAPI will still work asynchronously and be extremely fast.

  - Navigate to service provider section, expand Inbound Authentication Configurations and expand OAuth/OpenID Connect Configuration.
    - Copy the OAuth Client Key as the value for `<CLIENT_ID>`.
    - Copy the OAuth Client Secret as the value for `<CLIENT_SECRET>`.
  - By default, `<IS_HOST>` is localhost. However, if using a public IP, the respective IP address or domain needs to be specified.

* Check if there is an optional query parameter named `q` (as in `http://127.0.0.1:8000/items/foo?q=somequery`) for `GET` requests.
    * As the `q` parameter is declared with `= None`, it is optional.
    * Without the `None` it would be required (as is the body in the case with `PUT`).
* For `PUT` requests to `/items/{item_id}`, read the body as JSON:
    * Check that it has a required attribute `name` that should be a `str`.

And that way we are able to "parameterize" our dependency, that now has `"bar"` inside of it, as the attribute `checker.fixed_content`.

## Use the instance as a dependency

Then, we could use this `checker` in a `Depends(checker)`, instead of `Depends(FixedContentQueryChecker)`, because the dependency is the instance, `checker`, not the class itself.
