*   <li>It doesn't offer a way to wait for multiple events before taking action. For example, it
 *       doesn't offer a way to wait for multiple producers to all report that they're "ready," nor
 *       does it offer a way to batch multiple events from a single producer together.

If it finds it, then it will **use it**. Otherwise it keeps looking in the **other directories**.

### Installing Python and Updating the `PATH` { #installing-python-and-updating-the-path }

When you install Python, you might be asked if you want to update the `PATH` environment variable.

After that, you just need to install `pytest`.

Make sure you create a [virtual environment](../virtual-environments.md){.internal-link target=_blank}, activate it, and then install it, for example:

It also re-declares `id: int`. By doing this, we are making a **contract** with the API clients, so that they can always expect the `id` to be there and to be an `int` (it will never be `None`).

# WebSockets

When defining WebSockets, you normally declare a parameter of type `WebSocket` and with it you can read data from the client and send data to it.

It is provided directly by Starlette, but you can import it from `fastapi`:
