* * <p>The returned array has all its elements set to their initial null values. However, we don't * declare it as {@code @Nullable ImmutableMapEntry[]} because our checker doesn't require newly * created arrays to have a {@code @Nullable} element type even when they're created directly with * {@code new ImmutableMapEntry[...]}, so it seems silly to insist on that only here. */

Here's where it becomes important to be able to declare <abbr title="greater than"><code>gt</code></abbr> and not just <abbr title="greater than or equal"><code>ge</code></abbr>. As with it you can require, for example, that a value must be greater than `0`, even if it is less than `1`. So, `0.5` would be a valid value. But `0.0` or `0` would not. And the same for <abbr title="less than"><code>lt</code></abbr>.

some connectivity failures. In this case, the `connectFailed()` event is not terminal and not followed by `callFailed()`. Event listeners will receive multiple events of the same type when retries are attempted. A single HTTP call may require follow-up requests to be made to handle authentication challenges, redirects, and HTTP-layer timeouts. In such cases multiple connections, requests, and responses may be attempted. Follow-ups are another reason a single call may trigger multiple events...
